Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero games on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It has a lot of great ideas that other games could learn from. Here are some of our favorite ideas in SpiderMans game.

MISSIONS / STORY
I have no ideas for the game’s narrative; I’ve liked both games’ storylines so I’m not too concerned with the plot, but I would like to see some missions that swap between characters. Start the game with Spidey and Miles collaborating on a task, similar to the first instructional mission in Spiderman Miles Morales, and then split up to play either Spidey or Miles depending on the objective. It’s possible that the individual you’re controlling may swap roles in the middle of a task.
I believe that incorporating the mechanics of both Spideys into a task would offer more variety to the gameplay. Perhaps the clip shown in the Spiderman 2 reveal represents the conclusion of the tutorial; after all, it says “Video Captured On PS5” at the bottom, implying that it is real in-game footage.
However, I do have one suggestion for a task, and that is the final boss fight. Many have speculated that since Peter has been taken over by the Symbiote Suit, he will be the last boss; however, because this is Peter’s game and not Miles’, and I believe the primary emphasis should be on Peter, I believe Miles will be the final boss. Peter will wear the suit throughout the game and then remove it once he realizes it’s hurting him, maybe after a big incident in which he fails to stop an opponent or something similar. However, a mission or two before the moment when Peter removes the black suit, you’ll be unable to change Peter’s suit since the suit will be linked to him. Miles will either misinterpret the suit as a gift or come find it and use it instead after it’s been removed. Given that we were only exposed to Miles’ Power in the last Miles Morales game, I believe it would be fascinating to have it turned against us and have Miles utilize his abilities in the suit, although a bit dark given Miles’ age, but it might be interesting nevertheless.
Following up on my previous point, the double Spiderman gameplay may carry over into Free Roam. You will be that character in the Free Roam version of New York, depending on whatever quest you are on in the narrative. After the tale is over, you’ll be able to access both characters at any moment and swap between them. You’d be able to modify and customize each Spiderman’s costume, as well as play as Miles or Peter. Also, having Peter or Miles as a selectable suit would be nice: I realize it’s not a genuine suit, but having them playable in Free Roam would be nice.
In addition, I have some thoughts for how the Black Spiderman Costume could vary from the regular suit. To begin with, it might seem snappier: when wearing the suit, you round corners faster and more sharply; as you sprint up or land on a structure, you produce a tiny impact, which causes the bricks you strike to move out of place. However, I believe the bricks would only appear in a cutscene since it would be difficult to execute in Free Roam. If you employ the suit in a car pursuit, Spiderman is more violent in removing opponents from the vehicle and is more forceful in stopping it, with the car being kicked so it flips and then having Spidey bring the car to a halt. When required, you could use the Dualsense to deliver huge shocks to all of the locations listed above, and you could even use it to make swinging more difficult utilizing the adaptive triggers while in the suit. To keep the savagery going, you might have Spidey damage property for shortcuts while wearing the costume, similar to what was originally shown at E3 2016:

Car chases could also be a lot more varied, with 5-10 additional car types to choose from when a car pursuit is generated in, or a randomized system that changes the color of the vehicle each time instead.
AREAS THAT ARE ACCESSIBLE
In my view, the game’s map should be much larger to allow for a more broad storyline and open-ish environment. And a larger map would give Spiderman more room to swing and live his life, so here are some areas I’d want to see on the map:
First and first, let me state that I have no ideas about The Bases and Challenges you must complete in order to 100% complete a district, but here are some suggestions based on places you may reach on the map:
I’d want to see Feast make a comeback. It was a beautiful location in the previous game, and I’d like to see it have some fresh relics or Easter eggs from Peter and Miles’ adventures this time around. Perhaps a memento or picture gallery from Peter’s trip during the Miles Morales Game.
Miles and Peter’s houses are easily accessible. In the Miles Morales Game, I appreciate the (very little) yet thorough element of being able to visit Miles’ house. Unfortunately, after the lesson in the first game, Peter’s house is not accessible, but I believe that in the sequel, his new home, if he purchased one, or his and MJ’s joint home, should be. I’m not sure what they’d include. Perhaps some additional Easter Eggs or allusions to events that occurred previous to the game’s release. Or maybe simply a stats panel for your gaming at whichever Spidey’s home you’re in. Allow Peter to have a picture of him and May on his bedside table or something.
Now, I’m aware that the two games that have been released thus far have lacked this since they were intended exclusively for singleplayer and not for co-op play. I’d want to see this continue in the third game — I’d like it to have a single-player story – and I doubt it would be much better with co-op. But, if it was something I really desired or that was being introduced to the game, here are my thoughts on it.
While both games are now excellent Singleplayer experiences, with enough to do during the narrative and overall entertainment, I always feel like there is a shortage of things to do after completing all districts and the story (except the crimes). This is where Co-Op may help.
In this game, co-op may be used as an endgame reward or as a supplementary mode of play. You might include a Co-Op option in the city’s training minigames, allowing you to invite or matchmake another player who is at the same stage in the narrative as you to train with you. They’d take the place of Miles Morales’ Holographic Pete or Android from the first Spiderman PS4 game, and you’d be able to fight (or train) with a new Spidey in a confined arena atop a skyscraper or whatever. Add an option to have Bases that need to be taken out be taken out with a Co-op Partner, allowing two players to invade and take out the base at the same time.
While I believe this has the potential to ruin the game, I also believe it has the potential to enhance certain aspects of the game, such as the co-op mode. However, if they designed the game to be entirely focused on the co-op mode, perhaps they could include an alternate map or version of the game that is entirely co-op. The Co-op version would be launched during the load-up rather than the campaign, and it would enable you to join a Friend’s world through invitation to help them 100% their map. However, I believe that co-op would not apply to missions in order to preserve the single player experience.
Overall, I don’t think Co-op fits the game’s premise, but given that there are now two Spideys, it may not be too far fetched.
