Bungie give us back the OLD Fighting Lion PLEASE (or reverse blast radius nerf in PVE/PVP)

The Fighting Lion was one of the most iconic weapons in Destiny 1, but it has been removed from PVE and replaced with an inferior weapon. This is a great example of how much PvP can change on such a small scale to make things worse for players who love these old school weapons.

The “destiny 2 broodhold glitch” is a bug that has been present since the release of Destiny 2. Bungie has yet to fix it, and players are begging for them to do so.

Bungie give us back the OLD Fighting Lion PLEASE (or reverse blast radius nerf in PVE/PVP)

Here’s a worried Lioneer.

I’m sure you’re all familiar with our little yet lovely village. (If not, here’s the link to the reddit: FightingLion - Bungie give us back the OLD Fighting Lion PLEASE (or reverse Radius of Blast nerf in PVE/PVP)

FightingLion) (http://www.reddit.com/r/FightingLion)

Fighting Lion, along with other Grenade Launchers, was nerfed at the start of Season of the Lost, and you’re probably aware of it.

Let me split the timeframe down into four stages:

1.Original:

Before the GL-Nerf in 2021, there was the first Fighting Lion.

2.The Initial Nerf:

Fighting Lion Usage was the one that took the brunt of the blow.

  • The Radius of Blast has been lowered greatly.
  • The time it took to reload was dramatically reduced.
  • To activate the “Chimera” exotic ability, you must hit many times.
  • Nerf to damage

Great explanation of the FL nerf.

3.(Re-)Buffing:

Fighting Lion, while being boosted, is still a shell of its former self.

  • The multi-hit prerequisite for the Reloading Time bonus has been removed.
  • The reload stat’s bonus has been increased.
  • i.e. reload will still be sluggish if you miss, but Fighting Lion will reload quicker than before the nerf if you land any damage.

FL has evolved from a high skill/high potential weapon to a high skill/low potential weapon in its current state.

So, why is it the case?

Fighting Lion PRE-general NERF’s playstyle (Original):

  • Fire a projectile at a modest velocity.
    • With your kinetic weapon, get a kill or clean up.
    • If you miss, rapidly reload or switch to your kinetic weapon.
  • Do it again & profit

Spamming grenades was feasible, though not very beneficial in PVP.

Look no farther if you want to witness a genuinely oppressive Grenade launcher.

Allow me to keep this brief.

1.PVE:

It’s still functional, but it’s seen better days. Endgame content was never a feasible possibility. I’d be massively exaggerating its use here.

It’s fun to use in lower end activities, but the Radius of Blast reduction and new reload requirement make it less consistent & less fun to play with.

If you don’t get a hit with the FL’s low velocity bullets, you’ll be penalized with a significantly longer reload time than previously. This isn’t a big problem in low-level content.

2.PVP:

While you can still create viable moves with it in principle, getting consistent kills has become considerably more difficult. After the NERF, this is shown in an use chart:

After the nerf, FL use rates have increased.

Later, I’ll attempt to offer use rates after the initial boost.

I did some primary research on the subreddit to figure out why gamers aren’t pleased with FL, and here’s what I discovered:

What makes FL so horrible right now?

The following is a summary of what was said in that post:

Why isn’t Fighting Lion good enough at the moment? Radius of Blast Reloading Time Velocity of the projectile Other FL is NOT a letdown. Total Number of Votes
Votes 355 292 39 39 117 842
In percent of Total Number of Votes (842) 42,16% 34,67% 4,63% 4,63% 13,89% 100%

So we got an overwhelming majority (76,83%, which is more than 3/4 of the voters) stating that the Reloading Time and/or the Radius of Blast affect the weapon negatively.

Because the projectile speed has always been sluggish, I left the velocity votes out here. However, when combined with the nerfs, the Fighting Lion has suffered a setback from which it will need to recoup.

**Why? To put it another way, it makes it much more erratic and frustrating to play with than it was before the initial nerf.**

You got low velocity projectiles that received a reduced Radius of Blast and if you miss, you get now punished with a significantly reduced Reloading Time.

The second, much-needed boost is as follows:

a) Restore Radius of Blast & Damage (most preferred)

c) Disable the Reload Condition (meh)

c) Different approach I’ve been thinking about: Increase Velocity of the projectile to combat the low Reloading Time / Radius of Blast. This is actually a great option to me, because you still have to be skillful, you still have to hit your enemy with that reduced Radius of Blast and you still get punished when you miss. But at least, it’s now easier to hit your enemy in the first place.

Let me know what you think of my suggestions.

Please refrain from hating on Bungie in the comments and keep things calm.

It is more important than ever to be courteous and sensible in the age of the internet.

It is, after all, only a game.

The Fighting Lion’s Situation in a Nutshell:

You got low velocity projectiles that received a reduced Radius of Blast and if you miss, you get now punished with a significantly reduced Reloading Time.

Fighting Lion and its wonderful community are deserving of a boost.

The “fighting lion season 15” is a petition that has been made to Bungie. The old fighting lion was much more powerful in PVE and PVP than the new one.
