In League of Legends, the Herald summons a powerful ally to fight at your side. If you are far from your base and destroy one of its turrets with an ability, the game sometimes does not give you gold for this kill because it believes that summoning another champion would be more efficient than giving gold for destroying something yourself. This is most noticeable if someone has summoned their own herald during this time period- they will receive no gold despite having destroyed the turret on their own accord.
The “lol tower aggro priority” is a topic that has been brought up many times before. The evidence suggests that the champion with the highest threat value should be targeted first, even if they are not near the destroyed turret.
So I’m re-posting this since there were some skeptics who refused to trust the evidence. They even said that they had “”I tested” it as well, saying, “Hey, you’re mistaken!” Even though I’m far away from the tower, I receive the local tower gold! “.. No, you don’t, and I have proof this time.
Plates and local tower gold operate in somewhat different ways. A player receives a plate if they damage the turret in a reasonable period of time and are near enough to the tower to obtain it. Plates, on the other hand, are unique in that **damage sources may provide plate gold at any range**. This implies that if you summon a herald in bot lane and then switch to top lane, and your herald strikes the bot tower, you will get gold from the shattered plates.
LOCAL TOWER GOLD IS NOT THE SAME AS THIS. On demolition, a tier 2 tower is worth 550 local gold to champions. The distinction is that in order to get this money, you must be near the turret. For example, if you satchel a turret but WALK AWAY from it before destroying it, you will not collect the local gold. Another example, and this is my primary argument, is how the game handles herald. You will not get the 550 gold if you summon herald bot lane and are not near enough to the tier 2 tower when herald smashes it. Your team will still get 50G, but that’s all. I checked it, and you can see that after the tower is demolished, the blue team gold does not increase by 500.
The reason I’m publishing this is because it’s clear that the bulk of the player population doesn’t understand what local tower gold is. I’ve seen junglers constantly toss herald at a tower, believing it’s a smart use when they don’t get any gold. I feel that the game’s quality would vastly increase if people took the effort to understand the sophisticated procedures that govern bounties and gold mechanics.
EDIT: I’m going to publish a longer version with extra information, such as my real gold.
As the skyscraper is being demolished, it is displaying personal income.
I am astounded by the number of individuals who will deny a truth without doing their own research. It’s quite depressing. In the similar vein, I’ll upload an IN-GAME error my top laner makes with Herald shortly. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
In this second clip, you can see that even after using herald mid lane to demolish the tower, Kayle isn’t near enough to collect local tower gold.
Kayle uses herald mid and, despite being near to the tower, does not obtain the 250 local tower gold.

Rift Herald isn’t used by teams for turret plates for a reason.
We’ve all seen it: a pro team takes possession at 11 minutes and keeps it until far after the plates have fallen. Casters and twitch chat alike bemoan the loss of 320 gold, but the game continues. Rift herald, on the other hand, is a little more precious. Sure, there’s the 320 gold…

MATH FOR THE GOLD BAR IS WRONG
According to a post with 1,4k upvotes, you’ll need to play for around 50 hours to obtain a single gold bar. This is completely incorrect. I believe the OP believed he was given 0.4 NUGGET instead of 0.04 Goldbar as a prize ( 4 nuggets ) THIS IS WRONG, I reiterate. I spent almost 4 hours playing yesterday. You must…

Gold is given to cowards.
So, the other day, I was solo slooping and had just finished a gold hoarders expedition (nothing but 8sea fareres chest). When I was sailing back, I came upon a shipwreck and decided to “f*ck it, I’ve got time” and go loot it. There wasn’t much there but a horrible skull and a seafareres. So I…
