After two years in development, FINALLY the Guardian Druid Mage Tower is completed and available for purchase on Path of Exile! The game’s most ambitious end-game content has been released as part of this update, bringing a new challenge to players who have already played through all previous difficulties.
The “unblinking gaze of sethe” is a card that was released in the new expansion for Hearthstone. The card has been completed by many players, and it has been the subject of many debates.
To begin with, I’m a casual (almost 50) boomer (i.e., I’m as lowest as it gets) who began a week later than the rest of the group. I didn’t do any gear farming, consumables grinding, or viewing videos. My only “prep” was that I performed the MT when the artifacts went ballistic with AP and you could use Luffa legendary to remain in bear form and swipe/thrash Variss from beyond his circle. I just had a basic understanding of the mechanics. My primary character is a stupid druid, and I quest and grind in bear form. Even with that, it took me 220+ tries this time to complete the task.
TL;DR: I’m aiming for the cliched approach: “Yes, if *I* can do it, I’m sure you can too.”
Talents:
- Brambles – strong SotF synergy, decrease CDs on Barkskin for P2, and add support for P1
- Wild Charge — those darn infernals will tag you now and then, so having this for a save was a smart idea.
- Balance Affinity — a one-size-fits-all approach to dealing with P1, using Boomie spells to strike from afar and tagging eyeballs with two dots.
- Mighty Bash – another save option, usually seen in P2 after you’ve reached 4+ Annihilates.
- Galactic Guardian — the auto + the proc’d 300 percent MF made for a relatively quick insta-cast low-maintenance damage source for both phases.
- SotF Is a rather typical option.
- Rend and Tear – same as before, normal option
Gear:
My stuff was regular old Shadowlands Korthia gear… just your run-of-the-mill Korthia dreck. Priority: haste->versions->mastery
exceptions to the rule
- I replaced my renowned legs with… you guessed it… Legs of Korthia!
- 2 shadowcore oils + 2 enchants were placed on my ancient legion Claws of Ursoc artifact sword (lightless force, force multiplier)
- I looked at several video instructions after some irritation (maybe 100+ tries) and discovered mention of the Ravaged Seed Pod. This item is great for P1 additions, and if you can convince Kruul to sit in the puddle, you’ve got yourself a massive dam on your hands.
Enchants:
- I used the Force Multiplier on the Claws off-hand to enchant Shadowlands for whatever I could.
Consumes:
- Un(friggin)bridled Potion Fury – as soon as P2 began, I popped this + drums, massive dam! To save some AH $$, I side-quested my alchemy/herb alt for rank 3 herb + rank 3 recipe from Mechagon.
- Drums — I only used the SL version since my LW alt has a billion heavy desolates and bones.
- I’d use Veiled Augment Rune when Variss had at 25% HP to avoid from blowing through them, but if you’re very excellent, you can use it all the time. To supplement your supply of these, get some max-leveled alts with command tables.
- SL versa food – Steak a la Mode
- Spectral Flask of Power – I just produced a batch of these on my alch alt since I have a ton of SL herbs.
- Shadowcore Oil – as previously stated, this may be used twice with Claws of Ursoc.
Macros:
- /cast Skull Bash (P1/P2) main interrupt
- Mighty Bash (P1/P2): /cast Mighty Bash
- Poppin’ coolies on P2: /use Deathly Ferocity Drums /use Unbridled Fury Potion
Tactics:
- P1 – I only used Typhoon a few times since it was simply another item to keep track of Variss’ location on the platform while staying close to Velen’s eyes. Rather of maintaining range in moonkin, I chose Drain Life interrupts as bear to tag Variss with a Mangle/Thrash. MF + Sunfire, Wrath, and Starsurge were my go-to spells when I had the time (rare) to stand and cast for that long. Depending on the form, self-heals via Regrowth or Frenzied Regen. Heal-agro was a great approach to bring the ads to you.
- P2 – Annihilate management, do your best to top off your health before the Annihilate lands (i.e. frenzied regen + orbs) and use your defensives (I did: 2x iron furs, barkskin + ironfur, Surv. instincts + ironfur, Surv. instincts + ironfur, Surv. instincts + ironfur, Surv. instincts + ironfur, Surv. instincts + ironfur, Surv This aspect of the fight is, in my opinion, the most difficult because all of the dynamics at P2 (infernals, purple bars, Kruul puddles, etc.) do everything they can to deplete your health, and you really need to be close to max health + use *some* kind of mitigation to survive the Annihilate and get just enough damage on Kruul.
Finally, some thoughts:
- I, like others who have attempted this, did not survive the struggle. The last 2k of Kruul’s health was terminated by Velen and his other worthless (har har) friend.
- Of course, I didn’t cry when I received the award. srsly
- This skin was the only thing in the game that a lousy casual like me genuinely desired when it was announced… I’ll never be a raider or excellent at pvp or anything, but that Felbear form is something I’ll have for as long as the game exists… and I’ll have the best memories of the road I went to achieve it… Good luck on your personal trip, as well.

Guardian Druid Mage Tower
This will not be so much of a guide as it will be a brain dump. Please feel free to ask questions, and I will do my best to answer them. While I can tank on other toons 10/10 Heroic, my guardian druid was my weakest in terms of me not understanding what I was doing….

Guardian Druid 9.1.5 Mage Tower [Guide]
Afternoon, After seeing a few postings from others suffering with the 9.1.5 Mage Tower, I decided to publish a little tutorial for Guardian Druids. I wanted to try to give back after finishing it; if it weren’t for the forums, reddit, and youtube videos of people sharing their tries and expertise, I wouldn’t have…

Project Paradise is now “completed.”
….and it resulted in frown emotes. I don’t know about you, but this is the most difficult to accomplish, even more so than Rad Rumble (small sample size though, have only attempted 5x) Anyway, it started off as a jumbled mess since I couldn’t tell my rad kelp from my venison and was getting…
