What are Trade Skills in Raiders of the Lost Ark?
In Lost Ark, trade skills are talents that your character may master to get the materials and resources they need to make things and research improvements.
Trade Abilities are similar to professions in other MMORPGs, in that they allow you to master non-combat skills.
You may harvest resources and materials from natural sources such as mineral veins, plants, and animals found across the environment of Lost Ark using Trade Skills.
In Lost Ark, your character may learn six distinct Trade Skills:
- Foraging
- Logging
- Mining
- Hunting
- Fishing
- Excavating
When your character learns Trade Talents, he or she learns all of these skills at the same time. You are not need to learn each one separately.
Foraging is the ability to collect herbs from plants all around the globe and utilize them to make potions and other combat equipment.
Logging is the ability to harvest wood by cutting down trees with an axe, which you’ll need to develop your Stronghold and make things.
Mining is the ability to acquire ores from mine mineral veins all across the globe, which you’ll need to enhance your Stronghold and make things.
Hunting is the ability to collect flesh from wandering wild animals, which you may use to make different food products.
Fishing is the capacity to catch fish in the ocean and lakes, which may be used to make different foods.
Excavating is the ability to retrieve relics from the earth, which are required for the creation of Trade Skill items.
Each Trade Skill has its own level, which you may develop through practicing it.
A Trade Skill’s maximum level is 30.
When you level up a Trade Skill, you get experience in both the standard and mastery skill levels.
When a Trade Skill’s usual skill level is increased, additional collecting skills are unlocked, such as the ability to log lush trees with Logging or kick a tree for guaranteed special benefits.
Leveling up a Trade Skill’s mastery skill level improves your efficiency in that Trade Skill, boosting your chances of obtaining higher-rare commodities and resources, collecting speed, and more.
How to Unlock Lost Ark’s Trade Skills
Complete the questline Crown of Lakebar from the NPC Artisan Urr in Lakebar to acquire Trade Skills in Lost Ark.
Crown of Lakebar is part of the main questline in Raiders of the Lost Ark, therefore you can’t start it unless you’ve finished the prior objectives in the main tale.
To put it another way, following the main questline until you reach Lakebar and then following the main questline there is all it takes to gain Trade Skills in the game.

We were level 24 when we arrived in Lakebar and had completed the main questline, which allowed us to gain Trade Skills.
Crown of Lakebar guides you through the process of creating a new crown for the new king, which includes mining materials.
When you complete the main questline in Lakebar, you have access to all six Trade Skills at once.
Even though most of the Trade Skills aren’t required for the objectives, you’ll learn them all at the same time.
How to Put Trade Skills into Practice
In Lost Ark, you may either walk up to a natural resource and hit ‘G’ on your keyboard, or utilize the Trade Skill’s abilities, depending on the Trade Skill you choose to employ.
You must be wearing a Trade Skill tool for that Trade Skill before you may execute it in the game.
Work Energy is required to perform any Trade Skill. When you’re in Trade Talents mode, which you can activate by pressing ‘B,’ you can see how much Work Energy you have in the little green bar above your skills.
Walking up to a natural resource — a loggable tree, a mineral vein, or a plant – and typing ‘G’ on your keyboard or left-clicking it with your mouse activates Foraging, Logging, and Mining.

Hunting, Fishing, and Excavating all need the usage of Trade Skill talents, which you may access by hitting the ‘B’ key on your keyboard.
To begin, there are two talents in hunting: Throw and Search.
Throw is an active area skill that you may use on wild animals to cut them for flesh by hitting ‘G’ on your keyboard or left-clicking them with your mouse.
Search is a passive toggle talent that emphasizes huntable wild creatures.
To begin, there is just one talent in fishing: Float Fishing.
When you’re near a fishing place, you may utilize float fishing to cast your line into the water and catch fish.
To begin, excavation requires two skills: sonar and relic search.
Sonar is a detecting ability that causes a beep to get louder as you get closer to a relic. Use Relic Search when it begins beeping very quickly and shows a dark blue/purple hue.
Relic Search looks for relics in the environment surrounding your character. A relic will appear on the ground if it is within a limited radius of you.
To get the relic, approach it and excavate it by pressing ‘G’ on your keyboard or left-clicking it with your mouse.
You’ll have more active skills to employ in the Trade Skills skill window as you gain more normal skills for each Trade Skill.
Before you may execute any Trade Skill, you must be wearing Trade Skill tools.
Each Trade Skill has its own tool, so if you want to log trees, you’ll need a Logging Tool, if you want to hunt, you’ll need a Hunting Tool, and so on.
You may purchase Trade Skill tools from a Trade Skill Tool Merchant NPC, complete quests, or make them for each Trade Skill.
Nickel, the first Trade Skill Tool Merchant you meet in the game, is situated in Lakebar Village, which is where you study Trade Skills.

The Novice version of each Trade Skill Tool may be purchased for 1,500 Silver from Nickel.
Tool for Developing Trade Skills Merchants may be found in all of the main towns, including Luterra Castle.
To get higher-level Trade Skill Tools, you must first obtain the recipe for creating them and then create them using the needed resources.
The recipes for higher-rarity Trade Skill items may be obtained from the NPC Jeniff in your Stronghold, and then crafted in your Stronghold’s Crafting Workshop.
To retain your Trade Skill tools’ durability and hence your ability to utilize them, you must repair them.
Every time you repair a Trade Skill tool, there’s a risk it won’t be mended to its full durability, and you’ll lose a little of it.
This implies you’ll need to buy new tools or repair old ones using Trade Skill Tool Restoration Kits at some time. Because restoring tools is costly in terms of materials, only repair ones that are very rare and have excellent stats.
Because Trade Skills are shared with your roster, Trade Skill Tools are worn in the Trade Skills window rather than the character equipment window.
How can I increase my Trade Skill work energy?
Work energy is required to perform any Trade Skill in Lost Ark. You won’t be able to execute any Trade Skills if you don’t have enough work energy.
By switching to Trade Skill skills and glancing at the green bar above your talents and pressing ‘B’ on your keyboard, you can check how much work energy you now have.
Wait for it to replenish or use Minor Life Energy Potions and Leap’s Essences to gain extra work energy in Lost Ark.
Minor Life Energy Potions boost your current work energy by 1,000 points, whereas Leap’s Essences boost your current work energy by 3,000 points while also increasing your Trade Skill XP.

Crystals in the Shop in the bottom-right menu may be used to buy both Minor Life Energy Potions and Leap’s Essences on a weekly basis.
Minor Life Energy Potions and Leap’s Essence may also be obtained during Login occurrences on rare occasions. Completing certain objectives will also award you with little Life Energy Potions.
Trade Skill work energy is passively regenerated at a rate of 33 work energy every 10 minutes. Every 10 minutes, you regain 36 work energy if you have the Crystalline Aura.
When you reach the maximum limit of 10,000 work energy, you can no longer regenerate it, which is why it’s a good idea to use it.
When your work energy goes below the maximum of 10,000, you must regenerate it until you reach the limit.
