Is this a build you should try?

The ESO Magicka Templar PvP Build is designed for players that want to maximize their survivability while still having a strong burst potential. Magplar PvP is a wonderful place to start since your major spammable damaging ability also heals you, making it a perfect spot to start. You now have exceptional survivability and burst thanks to the way ESO scales abilities and procs with spell damage. I’ve brought this thing into battlegrounds with high MMR, outnumbered Cyrodiil, and Imperial City, and it works fine single or in groups.

Pros

  • Self-healing insanity
  • The attacking loadout is really straightforward.
  • Great for gankers and stealth.

Cons

  • For the sake of survival, some attacking potential is sacrificed.
  • It might be difficult to get the necessary equipment.

Skills

Lighting Staff, 2h or Dual, Bar One Make use of your preferences.

Dual Wield provides you the most damage but not the burst of a Two Hander. Lighting staff gives you 10% AoE damage, Two Hander gives you follow-up passive, high spell damage and stamina upon kills, and Dual Wield gives you the most damage but not the burst of a Two Hander. Depending on your playstyle and requirements, they are all viable options. I like 2h with a powerful attack/crescent sweeps combination that is fully charged.

Toppling Charge (Morph of Focused Charge | Spear, Aedric skill line) – A powerful gap closing that throws opponents off guard. You can rip off a fully charged heavy strike for 2x the resource sustain if you’re off balance. The key to using Purify Light is to build up the combination and stun your opponent right before it bursts.

Purifying Light (Morph of Backlash | Dawns Wrath Skill Line) – burst damage, slight spell damage boost, and heals at target’s base. This is your death weapon, since it absorbs damage like a balloon. For large burst, a portion of the damage you’ve done is discharged after 6 seconds. Filling up the damage, stun, and sweeps just before it bursts is the key to killing players. The efficacy of this also grows with spell damage.

Degeneration (Morph of Entropy | Mages Guild Skill Line) — time-based harm that also offers us a spell power boost. Consider this your front-bar flex position, but you’ll have to spend magic power potions to obtain the bonus. Support’s Flare reduces damage, Radiant Glory functions as an execute, and so forth. I want to keep things simple rather than complicate things.

Puncturing Sweep (Morph of Puncturing Strikes | Spear, Aedric) – AoE primary spammable that heals us dependent on the amount of damage we do. This strikes in a huge cone, and the advantage is that you gain a lot of healing while dealing a lot of damage. To increase your survival, keep your Living Dark “bubble” going while you go on offensive.

Living Dark (Morph of Eclipse | Dawns Wrath) – Our major survival technique, which puts a 6 second bubble around us. You’ll be healed every half second if you take damage, making you very powerful. This spell has a high magicka cost and scales based on maximum health or maximum spell damage. When one or both of you are high, you become very difficult to kill. Before rushing in or withdrawing, use this. I also have this on the same key as my honor the dead burst heal so that no matter which bar I’m on, I’m reminded to press the 5 key.

Crescent Sweep (Morph of Radial Sweep | Spear, Aedric skill line) – This is our ultimate bomb at a minimal cost. “Enemies attacked in your path will be hit for 60% greater damage,” says the skill’s description. As a consequence, striking it after stuns may result in enormous burst damage. This beast can hit for 12,000 even against tanky guys with my buffs and debuffs applied.

Restoration is the second bar. Buffs for the staff and healing

Back bar configurations like Restoration Staff, Sword and Shield, or even Ice Staff are fantastic. Resto’s strength is fully charged heavy assaults for substantial healing and magicka endurance. The advantage of sword and shield is the ability to use stamina for block mitigation when under a lot of duress. Frost Staff can block with magicka or stamina and has the same amount of damage reduction as Sword and Shield, as well as the ability to employ a spell damage enchant and have some range. Experiment to see what works best for you.

Channeled Focus (Morph of Rune Focus | Bringing Back the Light Talent Line) – This skill will provide you with resource sustain as well as an armor bonus. If you have a large health pool, you can also obtain some great healing while standing in the little rune. Due to this ability and Living Dark scaling off max health, I’d advise inexperienced players or those unfamiliar with PvP to run max HP.

Extended Ritual (Skill line: Bringing Back the Light | Morph of Cleansing Ritual) – One of the game’s most powerful defensive abilities, allowing you to cleanse up to 5 harmful effects with a single cast. In bigger groups, the gear set Plaguebreak may cause issues, but in small or solitary scenarios, casting ritual to remove 5 DoTs and absorb a bit extra damage is worth it. This is the second installment of your templar “home.” REMEMBER: If you’re repeatedly being struck by plaguebreak, I recommend using Flare from the Support skill path, since it will kill you and your squad.

Race Against the Clock (Morph of Accelerate | Psijic Order Skill Line) – When it comes to movement skills, you have two options. In Stage 3 Vampire, it’s a Race Against Time vs. Elusive Mist. When coupled with the Undeath passive, Mist gives the most survivability. You will, however, need to better manage your resources. Race Against Time, on the other hand, is very valuable and easy to maintain. I no longer play as a vampire and instead prefer RAT.

Rapid Regeneration (Morph of Regeneration | Restoration Staff skill line) – This is a good long-term heal, although the other morph has greater group usefulness. If I’m wielding sword and shield, I generally put Repentance here for near-infinite stamina. For the greatest effects, pair your burst heal with a complementary heal.

Honor The Dead (Rushed Ceremony Morph | Bringing Back the Light Skill Line) – Great burst heal that restores some sustain. The key is to not rely on this skill unless you’re in desperate need. Because this is pricey, particularly in no CP conditions, you’ll want heals from your rune, bubble, and ritual to accomplish the bulk of the job.

Life Giver (Morph of Panacea | Restoration Staff) – For 5 seconds, this ultimate grants “oh crap” near invincibility. To take maximum benefit, make sure you have Healing Ward, Rapid Regeneration, and Combat Pray unlocked in the Resto line, since it will cast them all at once. I utilize the Spell War ultimate if I’m using Sword and Shield, and Remembrance from the Bringing Back the Light skill line if I’m using Frost Staff.

Rotation

Pre-Buff

  • Rune, Ritual, Time Trial, and Bar Swap
  • Toppling, Crescent, Degen, Purifying Light on main target
  • 1-2 times sweeps
  • If you’re not already dead, put up Living Dark and peel back the layers.

Combo

Lands Crescent shortly after toppling charge and before Purifying Light is activated. This prevents the victim from breaking free and reacting to the oncoming barrage of harm.

Gear

Optimal

When it comes to high MMR battlegrounds, outnumbered PvP, and Imperial City Sewers, this is my go-to.
