The Legend of Zelda Voted Most Wanted Game-to-Movie Adaptation –

We wanted to know which games you’d want to see on the big screen in light of the forthcoming Uncharted film starring Tom Holland and Mr Marky Mark Wahlberg.

We know that many individuals are very invested in their fandoms, so it’s not surprise that fans want to see channel crossovers. However, video games that have been adapted into films have had a tumultuous history, beginning with the 1993 Super Mario Bros. and the lengthy series of Resident Evil movies.

Though more people are saying that Hollywood is getting it right, with successes like Detective Pikachu, starring one of Canada’s most successful exports, Ryan Reynolds, and the Sonic the Hedgehog Movie, which brought Jim Carrey back to the big screen after four years away.

We polled 2,000 members of our community to find out which games you want to see adapted into movies, and here’s what we discovered.

The top ten video game franchises you’d want to see adapted into films are:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

LoZ Breath of the Wild

With over 30 years of existence and over 52 million copies sold across original games, remakes, and ports, the elf who holds the record for most people not knowing his true name (for info, it’s ‘Link,’ Zelda is the princess he rescues) takes the top place.

It’s no wonder that the large fan base would want to see a cinematic version of the game franchise, which has become a household brand among even the most casual players.

Grand Theft Auto II is the second game in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Grand Theft Auto 5 gameplay

GTA, being one of the most popular video game series of all time, has all of the essential elements of an action-packed movie, including firearms, explosions, vehicle chases, and more.

And, as we wait for GTA 6, a film would help fill the void left by the previous game, which was nine years ago.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is the third installment.

Horizon: Zero Dawn gameplay

Horizon: Zero Dawn is a superb survival sci-fi film set in a dystopian future where nature meets technology and robot dinosaurs wander a jungle-overgrown America. It is set in a dystopian future where nature meets technology and robot dinosaurs roam a jungle-overgrown America.

4. The War God

God of War gameplay

With each new chapter, the God of War series grows in popularity, putting it in prime position to make the transition from video game to big screen.

The Deity of War series has the potential to explore mythology from all over the globe, thanks to the popularity of films like Marvel’s Thor about the Norse god and TV programs like Spartacus and Game of Thrones.

5. The Knight of the Hollow

Hollow Knight gameplay

This film adaptation, like A Bug’s Life and James and the Giant Peach, may take a close look at the world of insects, following an unknown protagonist who must explore the world he has discovered and defend the kingdom of Hallownest.

6. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Animal Crossing New Horizons gameplay

It’s no wonder that people want to see this as a movie since it was one of the most popular games during the epidemic.

Animal Crossing is situated in a world full of adventure and the various friendships you form with the game’s characters.

Final Fantasy 7

Final Fantasy X gameplay

Because each game is unique and follows its own tale, a live-action Final Fantasy film’s plot may follow the game’s typical conventions but with a distinct twist. It might pay respect to those who came before it, using callbacks and allusions to the video games, similar to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Fallout (nine)

Fallout 4 gameplay

Fallout would be a post-apocalyptic survival film set in a world populated by what remains of mankind and what has grown from the radioactive planet that has been left behind.

9. Mario Bros.

Super Mario Odyssey gameplay

Any new Super Mario film might go anywhere, thanks to a vast library of games spanning genres like platforming, racing, and sports. And, given the film’s poor reaction in 1993, a remake (done well) would be positively received.

Red Dead Redemption is number ten on the list.

Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay

A contemporary twist on the traditional Western style would create a fantastic RDR film that could be approached from a variety of perspectives, such as an origin tale for the characters, a sequel continuing the plot, or even a retold version focusing on the series’ finest moments.
