Naruto has a wide variety of characters with different abilities, but which ones are the most overpowered? What makes them so powerful that they can beat even other ninja (some examples include Naruto’s Rasengan and Sasuke Uchiha)?
The “top 100 strongest naruto characters” is a list of the most overpowered Naruto characters. The list includes both the manga and anime versions of the character.
Characters in most shounen anime often begin with a “base” level of strength. Then, as the program progresses, they train or study to grow stronger.
In theory, that makes logical, right?
However, some people are just born too powerful for anyone else to handle, or they possess abilities beyond the limits of conception that they keep hidden until the very last moment.
The various Naruto anime series follow these guidelines, with outrageously powerful characters that can knock you out the following week simply by looking at you.
So we’re taking a look at the strongest & most overpowered Naruto characters you know and love (or hate!)
Yamato is number 30.
We’ll start with a substitute teacher, which may not seem to be the most powerful thing in the world.
But only a few Shinobi can accomplish what Yamato can with his Wood Release talent – and no one, it seems, can do what he did for Naruto.
When Naruto couldn’t manage the nine-tailed beast when Yamato was mentoring him, he was the only one who could get it under control and turn Naruto around.
We don’t see him very often.
Yamato’s might, on the other hand, is undeniable.
Shikamaru Nara (29), Shikamaru Nara (29), Shikamaru Nar
Shikamaru is a sharp cookie — one of the show’s sharpest characters, if not the smartest.
He acquires knowledge and talents, such as the ability to drink water, and is feared not just for his powers, but also for how crafty and skilled he is at exploiting them.
It wouldn’t take much more for him to become overpowering – but he also defeated Hidan, who is almost invincible.
So, no, I’m not going to listen to anybody who argues he shouldn’t be on this list!
Shisui Uchiha (28), Shisui Uchiha (29), Shisui U
When a name is handed down in one of the numerous Naruto clans as a near-legendary character, you know there’s a reason for it.
Usually, it’s because they were really strong.
Shisui Uchiha was no exception; his incredible speed, talent, and ability set him apart from the rest of the clan. As a result, the members that came after him held him in high regard.
After all, he was one of the few Uchiha clan members who could utilize the Mangekyo Sharingan, giving him a prestige and power level that few other Shinobi could strive for.
Kimimaro (nineteenth)
He may not have been the most strong character on the program, and he may not have appeared for very long… The sheer breadth of Kimimaro’s talents was enough to earn him a position on the list.
Bone bullets, spine swords, and a skeleton forest are all possibilities.
Not only are they very potent powers, but they’re also rather cool.
There’s a reason he’s a fan favorite villain. And his talents are impressive, making him one of the most diversely formidable foes our heroes have ever encountered.
Sasori is number 26.
On a list of strong personalities, you wouldn’t normally include someone who was killed by their own grandma.
Sasori, on the other hand, is the lone exception to the norm.
The puppet master of the Red Sand not only led an army of puppet slaves to conquer a kingdom, but he also used his own abilities to convert himself into a weaponized puppet.
With a slew of telepathically controlled puppets who all preserved their original powers, he was almost invincible.
He would have been far higher on this list if he hadn’t been defeated!
Kakuzu is number 25.
Kakuzu, Kakuzu, Kakuzu, Kakuzu, Kakuzu
Don’t you realize there are simpler ways to make friends than gluing their broken hearts to your back?
However, there aren’t many simpler methods to command the five natural chakras… which is precisely what Kakuzu was looking for.
He became extraordinarily powerful after being imbued with all of those talents, and he was one of just a few shinobi who could access all of them at the same time, much alone employ his own tentacle-based ability.
Kakashi is number 24.
Make no mistake: Kakashi, mask or no mask, is not a shinobi you want to deal with in any manner.
The future Sixth Hokage shown time and time again that he was not only an excellent teacher, but also had leadership qualities that made him an ideal mentor for Naruto and his group.
Kakashi, regarded as one of the best ninjas of his age, offered his expertise in order to better teach his new protégés – and it’s revealing that few of them could ever aspire to equal his true power level.
Kisame (number 23)
While Kisame’s strength was provided to him by his sentient sword Samehada, there’s no denying that it helped him become one of the show’s most powerful characters.
His water manipulation talents are unrivaled, and he can make an almost infinite number of shark clones to do his bidding.
Shark clones, to be precise.
If there’s one talent that most people, even ninjas, dread, it’s the capacity to summon endless sharks!
Obito Uchiha (number 22)
Obito was far more at ease utilizing his intellect and guile to achieve what he wanted rather than his talents as a character on the list who began out much weaker than he ended up.
However, it wasn’t long until he was rivaling the strength levels of characters considerably more powerful than himself – and easily defeating them.
It came to the point where Obito could defend himself against four characters at once — all of whom you’ll meet later on this list.
Mei Terumi is number twenty-one.
Having a single super-powerful ability seems to be sufficient in and of itself.
Mei has not just her Vapor Style, which she previously used to dissolve meteors falling from the sky towards her hamlet.
But she also has the Lava Style, which allows her to spew lava anywhere and whenever she pleases. When you’re always battling as she is, this is a useful talent.
She also learned four of the five natural chakra techniques, making her a lethal as well as gorgeous opponent.
20. Mu
It’s odd that Mu’s ability to split in two is the weakest of her powers.
Mu’s invisibility, whether in physical form or via chakra, is virtually a more evolved sort of invisibility.
It implies that not only may he attack at any moment and without notice, but he can also always flee without being detected.
The Master of Onoki merited his moniker of “Non-Person” – but now that I’ve said it a few times out loud, it almost seems like he’s being mocked!
Itachi Uchiha is 19 years old.
I’ve discovered that there are just a few things in life that I can categorically declare to be life mottos.
One of such mottos is “don’t come in the path of the guy who wants to revenge the death of every single member in his tribe.” Even if it isn’t very memorable.
Itachi got stronger via pure force of will, being one of just a few members of the Uchiha clan who could harness the power of the Mangekyo Sharingan.
He’s also a genjutsu master. If you needed another reason to avoid him, here it is.
Minato is 18 years old.
Minato is widely regarded as one of the greatest ninjas of all time (at least by the characters in the anime), and his strength bears this out.
I mean, he could go across time and space at the speed of the Flash.
It’s easy to picture how strong he’d become in the future.
But it wasn’t even the whole range of his skills, and his sacrifice at the hands (paws?) of the nine-tailed fox to guarantee that it could be locked away simply added to the absurdity of his power.
Mighty Guy (#17)
When you come across a character named “May Guy,” you might believe you know what you’re in for.
You’d receive significantly more than you bargained for in this scenario.
Few could even aspire to equal his strength and speed as one of the strongest and most competent taijutsu experts who ever lived.
A special mention goes to a single kick that almost killed one of the list’s more powerful characters. There’s just one. Imagine if he’d been able to get his other leg involved!
Tsunade is the sixteenth member of the Tsunade family.
For a variety of reasons, Lady Tsunade is a fan favorite.
One of them is her position as one of the most powerful medical-ninjas in the world.
The Fifth Hokage could almost bring herself back from the grave if she needed to, and she has done it on many occasions.
But hold on! There’s more!
She can kick butt as one of the strongest shinobi out there, in addition to being a fantastic healer.
There’s no denying that it’s the best of both worlds.
Orochimaru is a character in the anime Orochimaru.
Everyone’s favorite or least favorite snakey-boy is listed here (guess it depends on your opinion).
Orochimaru went out of his way to show how powerful he was.
I mean, come on, the guy murdered two kage. That’s a level of strength that’s almost unheard of in the show’s universe and exhibits unimaginable might. He did, however, use shady techniques to deal with it.
Orochimaru is not only a master of several jutsu, but he has also devised and mastered a number of his own.
Orochimaru was one of Naruto’s most terrifying antagonists for a reason. He was a jack of many crafts but surely not a master of none.
Tobirama Senju is 14 years old.
This character may have one of the most terrifying talents on the list.
Tobirama has the ability to trap his opponents in an eternal darkness from which they are virtually difficult to escape.
If I’ve mistakenly switched off the hallway light, I won’t go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
So I can’t imagine how all the shinobi he’s encountered must feel after being thrown into the void.
But it was his legendary talent that earned him the title of Second Hokage, and it’s for all of these reasons that I’ve given him a prominent place on the list.
Nagato is number thirteen.
Our next entry has a plethora of abilities at his disposal thanks to his Six Paths of Pain avatars, which give him a veritable laundry list of oddities that make him a menace to anybody and everything.
Creating enormous creatures? Nagato is capable of doing so.
Using chakra to make explosions? It’s as easy as pie!
Is it possible to become a cyborg? It seems a bit off-the-wall for the program, but why not?
Most shinobi would struggle to defeat even one of his power variants, much alone six, prompting many to see him as one of the most dangerous dangers to any other ninja on the program.
Hagoromo, no. 12
Hagoromo was the first of two chakra-born characters that you may have expected to see higher on the list — and he had plenty of strength and ability to spare.
In a literal sense.
Hagoromo had so much chakra that he was able to split and distribute it like a youngster caught with a pack of gum in class.
Isn’t it great to see someone on this list utilizing their tremendous power for good? It seems that everyone else has been a jerk about it.
Even before that, he was still capable of defeating one of the tailed animals, although with a little help from our following entry…
Hamura is number eleven.
Given that Hamura realizes that his brother Hagomoro is really stronger than he is, this may appear out of place.
But don’t worry, dear reader, I haven’t made a blunder!
The reason Hamura is ranked higher than his brother is because he can make greater use of his apparently weaker power, such as traveling across time and space to assist in battles.
He did, however, pass the Byakugan on to his bloodline, indicating that he and Hagomoro share some power.
Hiruzen Sarutobi (#10)
Don’t be fooled by his frail look; Hiruzen was nearly unrivaled in terms of talent and power back in the day.
He wasn’t merely the most powerful of his generation… For a long period, he was head and shoulders above everyone in his hamlet.
Hiruzen, despite his late age, can still throw a punch — he sent Orochimaru fleeing on his own, almost beating him totally.
Children, show respect for your elders.
You never know when one of them will turn out to be a ninja master.
Jiraiya is number nine.
This is the guy that taught Naruto the Rasengan, as well as a few other skills.
The Toad Sage was not only a great tutor, but he was also one of the show’s most powerful characters.
Not just because of his wide variety of talents, but also because he could do almost everything better than almost everyone else.
I’m sure having been taught by the Third Hokage helped a little, but training the Fourth Hokage is all the proof I need to back up my claim that Jiraiya is tremendously strong.
Madara Uchiha is the eighth character in the Madara Uchiha series.
Here’s a ninja with a horrifying amount of power (and terrifying means of obtaining it).
Madara would go to any length to improve her strength.
Would you do the same if it meant implanting your deceased brothers’ eyes into your own head?
Madara has a long list of achievements, including destroying an entire army on his own and performing a spell that impacted everyone on the world.
Madara is unquestionably one of the most powerful ninjas of all time, with a list of skills as long as your arm and near absolute control over all of them.
7. Gaara
While Gaara’s talents were not very impressive on their own, he made this list because of the absurd amount of things the authors gave him the ability to perform.
This is how I envision the discussion going:
“Controlling sand is impressive in and of itself, but… what if he can also fly?” Oh, and he can use the sand he can manipulate to control others.”
“How about being able to create weapons and armor out of sand as well?”
“Genius! We’ll call it a day after adding six more sand-based talents for good measure.”
Hashirama is number six.
As a direct descendant of Harogomo and Haruma, Hashirama of clan Senju is endowed with a unique set of abilities, which he gladly employs for the greater good.
One of his abilities was to beat Madara, who was stronger than anything or anybody we had ever seen up to that moment.
What a great way to make oneself appear even better!
Because of his enormous talent and abilities, Hashirama is known as the God of Shinobi. And when it comes to plain overwhelming strength, he’s certainly a cut above.
Killer B is number five.
I can already hear you, and no, this isn’t a joke.
Killer B is one of the most powerful characters in the show’s history.
To begin with, he has accomplished what few others have — he has totally tamed the eight-tailed beast. Not only that, but he befriended it and was able to use its might for his own purposes.
Thank God it was all for the best!
Later in the series, he became Naruto’s tutor.
If only Killer B had guided Naruto in his lifelong dream of becoming a renowned rapper. That would have created for some fantastic scenarios in the future.
4. Kabuto
Kabuto is one of the best instances of power creep in the whole show.
He begins off as a fragile (but brilliant) figure.
However, as time passes, he begins to outperform characters well beyond his level.
Then he goes around Orochimaru, and everyone realizes exactly how powerful he is getting.
When combined with his sharp wits, Kabuto rapidly becomes unbeatable – and a power standard for the rest of the show.
3. Naruto
Of course, the guy himself would be included on the list.
He’s the main character of a shounen anime, after all, so he’s bound to be overpowering!
And he’s overpowering, growing so much strength and obtaining so many fantastic powers that only a few foes have a chance against him (even very few anime characters in general).
That’s not even taking into account the nine-tailed beast inside him, whose strength he couldn’t manage at first but was able to harness for his own benefit.
Please nerf Naruto’s OP.
2. Sasuke
This is the personification of allowing hatred to flow through you.
Since, well, pretty much day one, we’ve all known that Sasuke is ridiculously overpowering.
Sasuke is the latest in a long line of successors who can utilize the Mangekyo Sharingan, and he is by far the most powerful, rivaling and often even exceeding Naruto in terms of strength.
And that’s a huge hurdle to overcome!
This reminds me of my early philosophy of not getting in the way of a guy seeking vengeance for his whole tribe of the dead. It’s catching on, as you can see!
1. Kaguya
Kaguya is a divinity in every sense of the word.
Is there anything more I can say?
Actually, I think I should.
Kaguya transforms into the ten-tailed beast after absorbing chakra straight from the source, a monster so strong that it took both of her sons, who are both demi-gods, to defeat her.
Being the first to have chakra implies Kaguya is overpowering, and it also means she was once the most powerful being on the show.
I’m not sure I can think of a good cause to put someone else in first place!
