Destiny 2 has been in the works for a long time and it’s nearly here! We’re looking forward to sharing our new updates with you all at 0800 Pacific Time on Tuesday, March 26th. In anticipation of that reveal, we wanted to share some thoughts from our team about what’s happening this week:。
Topic: The Future Of Blockchain-Powered Games?
Category: Cryptocurrency
Introduction: Experts say gaming will be the first real use case for blockchain, revamping the industry and making games more immersive than ever. How gaming navigates the remaining hurdles will become a case study for other industries considering mass blockchain adoption.
The “destiny 2 twab today” is a weekly update on the latest happenings with Bungie’s Destiny franchise.

This week at Bungie, we’re thanking our wonderful community for all of their outstanding gifts to the Bungie Foundation’s Game2Give charity campaign this year. We’re also discussing a recent round of strikes against the Destiny 2 content creation community and clarifying our Terms of Service addressing in-game activities (and in an odd twist of events, even our own official channels).
This week’s TWAB is a little lighter, but it’s no less vital. This week, we’d want to go a bit more into our recent Game2Give charity project with the Bungie Foundation, which contributed all earnings from the first 48 hours to Ukrainian rescue operations, as well as helping kids in need and a range of other Light-worthy causes. Despite being all-virtual once again, it was another fantastic year, full of fun, a gigantic wheel that made Cozmo’s arm considerably stronger after so many spins, and some embarrassing dancing with wigs from our dev team. We also saw Guardians from all over the globe respond to the call and donate their own communities for a good cause, providing lifelong experiences while also giving back to the earth we call home.
Are you prepared for this week’s TWAB?

One Light at a Time: Doing a Little Good
Another year, another fantastic chance to support the Bungie Foundation’s charitable efforts via the Game2Give charity project. This year, the community came together once again to raise awareness and donations for a range of good causes, including humanitarian operations in Ukraine (which you can learn more about here).
( more here), children’s hospitals, and even reintegration programs for soldiers returning to civilian life. As a vet myself, I was unaware of this before to joining the team, and I was thrilled to learn of another more reason to support the organization’s ongoing work. But this isn’t about me; it’s about you and the work we’ve done together to make the world a little better for everyone.
This year’s Game2Give event finished on a high note, with a spinning wheel full of prizes and an inside peek at some of Destiny’s finest content. You may be thinking, “How high?” The Bungie Foundation is here to break it all down for you:

Bungie Foundation (Bungie): Wow! The generosity with which you all supported the Bungie Foundation’s charity pillars of children’s health and wellness, humanitarian help, and inclusion, diversity, and equality during the Game2Give fundraising drive astounded us.
Game2Give has raised a record sum of $2,011,025 thanks to all of you! We were able to collect this astounding amount of money thanks to the help of 38,500+ contributors and 575 fundraisers from 103 countries. It’s an understatement to say that this was a really worldwide Guardian project!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for demonstrating once again how wonderfully amazing the Bungie community is by caring for individuals in need all across the globe.
The newest charity campaign drew participants from all across the globe, demonstrating the full power of the gaming community. Through entertainment and iPad goodness, we were able to give emotional and social assistance to over 100,000 youngsters. During a moment of great turmoil in Ukraine, we delivered medical supplies together. And, working together, we’ve aided diverse youngsters in obtaining the STEM education they need, as well as attempts to combat prejudice in the game development industry. We should be proud of ourselves as a group. If you listen carefully, you could hear Shaxx shout in triumph for all of these triumphs; one charity at a time, we’re making our space-uncles pleased.
Account Security Policies Clarification
We revamped our website last year.
Security strategy for Destiny 2 and how we’ll deal with account recovery and account boosting services. Now we’re going to get a bit further into it. But first, a quick refresher on what these services are and why they are in violation of our policies.
Players agree not to grant access to their Destiny 2 accounts to anybody outside of their umbrella of ownership, as stated in our Account Restrictions and Banning Policies page and Terms of Service, which may be found here and here. Account boosting comes within this restriction’s scope, since it involves users giving up their accounts in order to improve their Light levels and win particular high-level items, resulting in an unfair investment in one’s character when compared to others who play the game organically.
Using these services may detract from competitive activities like Trials of Osiris, as well as lower the value of awards from raids like Grandmaster Nightfalls. We’re giving appropriate reprimands to a handful of accounts in line with our policies to maintain the integrity of these experiences. Regarding our regulations on account sharing and other in-game practices that potentially threaten account integrity, our security team has the following to say:
Bungie’s Product Security Team (Bundle of Joy): Bungie changed their policy in August 2021 to make it clear that account recovery, boosting, and players that use these services are all in violation of our Terms of Service. Since then, we’ve been keeping a careful eye on any suspicious conduct and have given our first round of bans against those who have been recognized as offenders. We want to reassure the community that our player behavior rules will be applied equitably to even the most proficient or well-known players.
Destiny is a constantly changing experience, and we’ll keep updating our regulations to make the game more pleasant and safe for everyone. We will continue to keep the community updated on the progress of these regulations, but for the time being, you can read about our present position right here.
Report on Player Support
Winter has come to an end!

Another week, another report from the Player Support Team’s tireless efforts. This is the group that works nonstop to track down any problems reported by gamers, no matter how big or little they are. They don’t have capes, but they may as well. While we investigate cape scaling, the current report from the team focuses on Rahool’s destination materials, Devour timings, and other topics.
This is the outcome of their investigation.

- After dying, Osmiomancy Gloves loses a grenade charge.
- When killing numerous foes at once, the Devour timer isn’t as constant as when killing only one.
- Xbox users are crashing at a greater rate than normal.
- The planetary materials of Rahool aren’t spinning.

Clarifications about the Takedown
We’ve seen an increase in strikes against content creators in the Destiny 2 community, both big and small, over the last week, and while some of the takedowns in the past were for legitimate violations of our established standards, many of the recent strikes were for content that did not violate those terms. As a result, we decided to
Publish the following message through Bungie’s official channels:
“We’ve been made aware of a spate of copyright takedowns on YouTube, and we’re looking into it.” This includes material from Bungie’s own channels.”
“These steps are not being conducted at Bungie’s or our partners’ request.” Please stay tuned for further information.”
A link to our intellectual property guidelines, which can be found here, was also supplied. The most recent round of takedowns was unusual, and after additional research, we discovered that some of them were carried out by bogus accounts pretending to be our IP protection service.
Google has verified that accounts that made fake legal petitions to YouTube have been suspended and will no longer have access to Google services. These accounts’ fraudulent submissions will be reversed (some have already, the rest should come through shortly). Google made an enforcement error in processing these takedowns, and in addition to rescinding the strikes and restoring the videos, they are working on process changes to lessen the possibility of such errors in the future. Please bear with us while we work with YouTube to resolve the bogus DMCA complaints. Meanwhile, we respectfully request that you abstain from harassing any members of the community or CSC employees.
We wanted to dispel a few myths that have arisen as a result of this fraud:
- CSC, a Bungie partner that assists with IP protection, did not act erratically or issue any unlawful takedowns.
- Bungie does not use or approve YouTube algorithmic takedowns. Bungie evaluation and approves all of CSC’s activities.
- Because these are human procedures, human mistake has happened on occasion, and we have worked rapidly to resolve any difficulties.
- Bungie looked into the reports of suspicious takedowns and discovered that numerous strikes were carried out by a “bad actor” who is not linked with Bungie or CSC but has impersonated CSC by using false email aliases. This assault came after, and presumably in retaliation to, a recent round of legitimate OST upload takedowns.
- Bungie does not use or approve YouTube algorithmic takedowns. Bungie evaluation and approves all of CSC’s activities.
The majority of the recent takedowns we’ve done have been for uploading of original soundtrack (OST) music. While it is not permissible to download a soundtrack from our site and post it to your channel, the community has expressed a desire to hear music that is not presently accessible. Our audio team’s first focus is developing and maintaining the game’s incredible soundtrack, thus we won’t be able to share every song in its entirety. We do agree, though, that we’d want to establish ways for the community to fill in the gaps and preserve some of the music that isn’t presently accessible.
We will enable some Destiny music songs to be posted to channels for archive reasons in the future. The following rules should be considered by anybody interested in creating this sort of content:
- It can’t be a previously published or publicly available OST music from Bungie.
- The material is not monetizable.
- The author must first seek Bungie’s approval by sending an email to [email protected].
At the end of the day, our content creation community — and not just the “big” ones – is vital to us. We recognize that many artists rely on their material as their major source of income, and we don’t want to hurt individuals who use art to convey their passion. However, much like any other business, there are limits in place to safeguard both the community and the property that the Destiny 2 crew have invested so much time and effort creating over the years. We’ve been working to revise our community guidelines message, which you can see in its original form here, to make our limits as a company clearer so that you, the creators, may develop the material your souls want without fear. When those modifications are complete, we’ll send you the revised content.
Movies and Stuff

Sam: Guardians, have a happy Twabsday! Every week, you make our life so much easier by sending videos and artwork for us to see. We could have selected 4,000 winners this week if we had the resources, but I’m afraid our site would collapse if we hyperlinked that many articles. As a result, you get these instead!

Hippy: What does this week’s AOTW section’s title mean? Who knows what will happen! Now, let’s go on. This week’s art choices are a mishmash of inventiveness, witty meme-ness (that’s a term, don’t look it up), and ongoing homages to the Vow of the Disciple raid boss, who has legs for days. This week’s Art of the Week selections are below!

Caiatl and Crow are now again significant, thus we’ve formed an alliance with the Cabal, whether we wanted it or not.

Do you want to have a chance to get your artwork or cool videos nominated for some attention? Remember to use the hashtags #MOTW, #AOTW, and #Destiny2Art to be recognized. Feel free to tag those Bungie channels in your contributions to make them feel even more at home.
There’s one more thing before we let you leave. Remember that cool Vow of the Disciple raid jacket you can get right now if you’re one of the first Guardians to complete the challenge? If not, don’t worry; we’ve included a reminder graphic below. Consider this a friendly reminder to those eager to get their hands (and their Gamertags) on the newest merch: the deadline to claim this prize is approaching. Fast. As an example, a fast at the end of the month. On March 31st, to be precise. So, if you don’t want to miss out, be sure to claim your prize by March 31 at 11:59 p.m. PT, or else — much like our youth — it will slip through your fingers (wow, Hippy, way to get existential there).

As usual, we’re sifting through input as players help create what the Destiny universe has to offer in the future. And, see, I’m not upset that you didn’t include us in any wonderful dad jokes; I’m just disappointed. (However, please submit dad jokes.)
More is on the way, but for now, thank you for being such a great community and sharing your problems and accomplishments with us. You’re great, and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. Stay fresh, be polite, and kick all the butt… in-game, till next time.
“I think I should go,” says the speaker.
