Halo Infinite is the next chapter in the Halo saga. 343 Industries, a Microsoft studio, has been working on it since 2017 and promises to deliver an experience unlike any other. In this blog post, we provide a few things you might want to know about this upcoming release.
The halo infinite open world is the upcoming game from 343 Industries. The game will be an open-world experience with many new features, such as a brand-new art style and multiplayer.
The company cites user input to explain why no new Halo Infinite gameplay was developed for Gamescom.
“A recent area of emphasis for me has been monitoring player sentiment around what we’ve been calling the “Combat Sensor” or “Radar” as it’s been dubbed by everyone. We anticipated that the Tech Preview implementation would be different, maybe even controversial, which is why we wanted to gather input as soon as possible. Andrew Witts (the lead multiplayer designer) stated on Halo Waypoint, “We’ve heard all the comments, and we have a new version that will be in the next preview that will be more in line with players’ expectations.”
“There was a good mix of known problems and unexpected surprises coming into the flight — the Match Intro camera operator had a lot of 1,000 pound bugs. Spartans are hurling themselves in their direction. We’re working hard to resolve the Match Flow problems. While our Medal animations didn’t play properly in the Tech Preview, our UI team has received input on Medal aesthetics, and we’re working to fix some of it. Finally, seeing what our players liked most helped us identify areas for improvement as we looked beyond launch,” Alex Bean (multiplayer designer) said.
“After the Halo Infinite Technical Preview, we noticed many Bot behaviors we wanted to address, but two areas of emphasis for us have been adjusting our difficulty tuning and increasing how effectively Bots prioritize contesting strong weapons on the battlefield. The difference between Spartan and ODST Bots should feel like a substantial boost in difficulty, something we didn’t achieve in the Technical Preview version. They also ran in a pack to attempt to acquire the same weapon at the same time – we’re looking into ways to encourage them to spread out and look for weapon pickups without competing with one another,” Sara Stern (multiplayer bots designer) said.
519914 hours were spent in multiplayer during the technical test (held between July 29 and August 2), 65 million 342 thousand 411 bots were slain, 1 million 346 thousand 687 bot and 4v4 matches were played, and 44953 hours were spent in the weapon exercise (which was used 2 million 868 thousand 678 times).
“As I stated in last week’s Development Update, the whole Halo Infinite team is in shutdown mode,” Joseph Staten, the game’s chief creative, explained why there was no new gameplay. This indicates we’ve finished working on features and are now concentrating on fixing high-priority problems. We’re spending a lot of time playing the game, testing patches, and doing all we can to make sure Campaign (and Multiplayer!) runs well on all platforms, from an 8-year-old Xbox One to a brand-new, high-spec PC. Even for a big and experienced staff, this is a difficult job.
Shutting down a game is similar to being on the final approach to landing an airplane in many respects. And I’m guessing you’ll overlook a little aircraft nerdery. In that scenario, the whole crew is in a “septic cockpit,” which means we’re at a crucial point in Halo Infinite’s journey, and it’s important to avoid distractions and remain focused on mission-critical duties exclusively. That means putting in the most effort possible to ensure that the wide-open, adventure-filled experience you’ll all get to enjoy on December 8 is as good as it can be. And not only do good gameplay demonstrations and trailers take a lot of time, but they also take time away from bugs and other shutdown chores.
However, I’d want to mention that just before I went for Los Angeles, I had to put a complete playthrough of the Campaign on hold, which I had begun late last week. I’m aiming for a perfect run, which includes finishing all main and supplementary objectives, as well as collecting all collectibles. I’ve played the campaign in Infinite many times. But each time I do, I always discover something new on Zeta Halo. These are often modest small environmental stories, like an abandoned but fiercely defended Marine recon station high on a lonely mountaintop (fortunately, the Banished missed the fully loaded S7 sniper rifle that the Marines left behind). “For example, a UNSC forward operating station that seemed abandoned… until I heard the laughing and taunting of numerous, energy sword-wielding and hooded Elites as I fell into their trap,” Staten added.
For December 8, Halo Infinite will be released on Xbox 360, PC, and Xbox One. Support for Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming will also be available.
